Women's Soccer Suffers First Home Loss

The Paterson Field magic wore off Saturday. Hamline lost for the first time in seven home games Saturday when Carleton used a late first half marker and an early second half tally for a 2-0 decision. The Pipers gave the defending conference champs all they wanted for most of the afternoon. But it was the Knights who pushed a shot past GK Liz Scott (Sr., Savage, Minn.) with less than five minutes remaining in the first half.

A breakaway less than five minutes into the second half finished the scoring for the day. Stock recorded seven saves but was tagged with the loss. The closest HU came was late in the second half when Aileen Scheibner (Fy., Woodbury, Minn.) and Kristen Berry (Fy., Vancouver, Wash.) were stopped from short range.

The Pipers are now 8-3-3 overall, 3-3-2 in the MIAC. They take a short trek up Snelling Avenue Tuesday for a non-conference affair with Northwestern. They try to start a new Paterson Field skein next Saturday when Augsburg visits for a 1:00 p.m. game.
