HU FB Coach Pate To Make TV Debut August 28

Want an early insight into how John Pate, HU's new head football coach, views the upcoming season? Then, tune in Sunday, August 28 at 11:00 a.m. to WFTC-TV (Channel 29 in the Twin Cities). Pate is one of Rod Simons' guests on his weekly show, Game ON!. The pre-recorded half-hour show airs weekly. Pate, who will actually be en route to Camp Ripley with his football team for five days of training camp at the time the show is being televised, was Rod's guest for the "MIAC Minute," a regular feature of the show.

The name is deceptive because the interview is always longer than 60 seconds. This one goes nearly five minutes and talks about Coach Pate's vision for the 2011 Pipers.

The team is finishing up its first week of drills at Klas Field. HU travels to New Ulm Saturday for a controlled scrimmage with Martin Luther. Then, it's off to Camp Ripley for five days of drills. The Pipers get back to town September 1 to start preparations for the season opener September 10 at Pacific Lutheran. Hamline's home opener is also the conference opener - Saturday, September 17 against Augsburg at Klas Field at 1:00 p.m.
