The honors continue for two members of Hamline's 2011 Women's Track and Field team. Becky Culp and Robyn Wernberg have been named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic team.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and
have met an NCAA automatic or provisional qualifying marks in an individual or
relay event. Participation in an NCAA Championship also fulfills the athletic
component of All-Academic qualification.
Wernberg, who has since graduated, earned All-American honors when she threw the discus 44.70 meters, good for a sixth place finish at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Meet last May. Culp, who was an All-American as a freshman, finished 17th in the 2011 meet with a 40.07 effort. The Lino Lakes, Minn. native will be a junior at Hamline this fall.
