Shaise Schuette hit the NCAA Provisional mark in the pole vault as the Piper men hosted the Capitol City Championships.
Schuette had a strong day in the pole vault, hitting the NCAA provisional mark with his vault of 4.75 meters (15-7), placing first.
Andrew Johnson led the field in the steeple chase, running to a first place finish in 9:24.40.
Jack Deichert led the Pipers in the 800-meter run running to a first place finish in 1:56.06. Ian Campbell place third in 1:56.39 and Brendan Ruter placed sixth in 1:59.10.
In the sprints, Andrew Marnach recorded a second place finish in the 400-meter dash in 49.46. Christian Willman finished tenth in 50.82.
Christian Swanberg ran to a fourth place finish in the 100-meter dash in 11.59.
In the field events, Brennan McKeag won the shot put with a throw of 15.94 meters (52-3 3/4). Joe Morelli finished third with his throw of 13.50 meters (44-3 1/2).
McKeag also finished first in the hammer throw with a throw of 55.22 meters (181-2). Andrew Schlicting placed eighth with a throw of 48.29 meters (158-5) and Blake Springman placed ninth with 47.34 meters (155-4).
John Yates had a strong day in the javelin throw as he placed second with a throw of 46.44 meters (152-4).
In the jumps, Amani Lee had a big day in the high jump placing third with a jump of 1.83 meters (6-0). Lee also recorded a sixth place finish in the long jump with a jump of 6.38 meters (20-11 1/4). Travis Latzke placed eighth in the long jump, jumping 6.28 meters (20-7 1/4).
Ben Johnson had a strong performance in the triple jump, his jump of 13.34 meters (43-9 1/4) gave him a fourth place finish.
The Pipers are next in action at the Macalester Twilight meet on Wednesday, April 27th.
