Five Pipers named to All-MIAC lists

A trio of Pipers were named to the All-MIAC first team while a pair of players earned honorable mention honors.

Heading up the first team honorees is infielder Erin Farley. Farley hit .439 in MIAC play and drove in a team-leading 24 runs in conference play. In MIAC play she had five home runs. She had just two errors in conference play. Overall, she hit .387 and drove in 33 runs and had eight total doubles.

Joining her on the All-MIAC first team is center fielder Bethany Hine. Hine hit .388 and tallied 23 RBIs, which was tied for second on the team, in MIAC play. She led the team in batting overall with a .417 batting average, hitting eight doubles and five triples. She had 28 total RBIs.

Heidi Larsen was also a first team All-MIAC honoree after hitting .412 with 22 RBIs in conference play this year. She hit .371 for the season with 37 RBIs overall. She used six doubles and six home runs to put together that RBI total.

Laura Randall, who earned All-Midwest Region third team honors this season, was an All-MIAC honorable mention honoree. Randall finished the season with a .350 batting average, tallying 34 RBIs. Her hits included five doubles, a triple, and four home runs. In conference play, she hit .492 with 23 of her RBIs coming against MIAC opponents.

Pitcher Kelsey Tacheny rounded out the honorees, also on the honorable mention list. She put together a 12-5 record in conference play this season with an ERA of 4.90. She struck out 48 batters. Overall on the season, she was 15-9 with a 3.54 ERA, striking out 70 batters on the year.
