Coyle throws an NCAA provisional toss at St. Thomas Showcase

Brenna Coyle had another NCAA provisional qualifying performance as the Hamline University women’s track and field team competed at the University of St. Thomas Showcase on Friday night.

Coyle (Jr., Lindstrom, Minn. ) placed first out of 24 athletes in the weight throw with a NCAA provisional qualifying throw of 16.84 meters, improving her previous provisional mark.

Robyn Wernberg (Sr., Brainerd, Minn.) placed third with her throw of 15.81 meters and Becky Culp (So. , Lino Lakes, Minn.) placed fifth with 15.22 meters.

On the track, Carly Braun (So., St. Cloud, Minn.) ran well in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.66 seconds.

The Pipers ran well in the 400-meter dash, placing two in the top 10. Kameron Argiannis (Sr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) ran 61.55, placing fifth, and Christina Walker (So., Katy, Texas.) placed seventh running 61.90.

In the 800-meter run, Jessica Kociscak (Sr., Anoka, Minn.) ran 2:23.49, placing third.

Keelie Sorensen (Fy., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) placed ninth in the triple jump with a jump of 10.02 meters.

The duo of Arlene Behling (Sr., Plymouth, Minn.) and Stephanie Jenkins (So., Wentzville, Mo.) tied for a fourth place finish in the pole vault with a jump of 2.95 meters.

In the shot put Robyn Wernberg (Sr., Brainerd, Minn.) placed fourth with a put of 12.39 meters. Becky Culp (So., Lino Lakes, Minn.) placed fifth in the shot with a put of 12.39 meters.

The Pipers next compete on Saturday, February 19, at the University of Minnesota.
