Pipers can't overcome doubles deficit in loss to Cobbers

The Hamline University women's tennis team fell behind 2-1 after doubles play and couldn't overcome the deficit as they lost a 7-2 match to Concordia College on Saturday.

The match was moved from the Pipers' home courts to the indoor tennis facility at Gustavus Adolphus due to poor weather conditions.

Carissa Wallerich and Anna Yarbrough provided the Piper win at doubles, winning 8-3. Kristen Kiemele and Nicole Krier were edged out at second doubles, 7-9.

In singles, Kiemele provided the match win, taking the victory in a super-breaker at third singles, 6-4, 0-6, 10-8.

The Pipers are now 2-12, 1-6 MIAC. They will host Saint Benedict on Tuesday, April 19, at 4:00 p.m.
