Model UN Team Goes to National Model UN

During the week of April 14-22, the Hamline University Model United Nations (UN) team traveled with Professor Karen Vogel, political science and director of Model UN, to New York City for the National Model UN Conference. The Hamline team represented Kenya at the conference. In addition, the team participated in high level briefings at UN Women, the newest United Nations special agency, and at the UN Permanent Mission of Kenya. The team also met with Carla Smith, attorney at Latham and Watkins, and Hamline alum, Class of 2000, and Wendy MacClinchy, Global Field Support Strategist for the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations. Team members this year are: Fatuma Ali, Barret Amsrud, Brittany Botts, Peter Espenson, Heidi Fahning, Sarah Gengler, Candice Grimm, Rachel Johnson, Sara Motawally, Michael Riley, Hannah Rael, Anne Marie Sketch, and Joe Sathe.
