The Pipers added a pair of runs in the top of the sixth on a two-run homerun by Lauren Clouston.

Hamline and River Falls exchanged a run apiece in the first two innings for a 2-2 tie. The Pipers' first run came on an RBI single by Jackie Brigl in the opening inning while Kara Poirier drew a bases-loaded walk for the second RBI.

The Falcons opened up a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the third, however, using a double and a trio of singles to jump ahead. In the fourth, they used four hits and a Hamline error to put five more runs on the board.

In the fifth, Poirier hit a lead-off double to ignite a three-run inning. She crossed the plate on an RBI single by Lauren Turitto. Jackie Brigl then singled home Cassie Lopez, who had also reached on a single.

Turitto then scored the third run of the inning on a sacrifice fly by Lori Moldan.

Hamline's final run of the game came in the seventh as Heidi Larsen reached on an error with the bases loaded, sending Laura Randall across the plate.

Brigl was 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs to lead the Pipers.
