Pipers and Gusties can't complete double-header

Game 1: Box score

HU    2    7   2
GAC  6   10  1

The host Gusties hit a lead-off single in the third, and again in the fourth, to get their scoring started in each inning. In the third, Gustavus Adolphus tallied a pair of runs on three hits and an error while they scored four on five hits in the fourth, taking the 6-0 lead.

In both innings, Gustavus scored two at a time, with a 2-RBI single in the third and a double and single that drove in two apiece in the fourth. Dani Cattryse had four of the six RBIs for the Gusties.

Hamline's runs came in the fifth, using four hits and an error to score two. Laura Randall drove in both runs with a single, plating Bethany Hine and Kelsey Tacheny.

Tacheny gave up nine hits and struck out three, but took the loss for the Pipers.

Game 2: Box score

HU    7    11  2
GAC  7    11  1

In game two of the double-header, a back and fourth battle ended in a 7-7 deadlock after six and a half innings. At that time, the game was called due to darkness.

Because the game is not considered official, yet, the statistics do not count towards the teams' cumulative totals. A date has not been set to finish the game.

At the time that the game was called, Jackie Brigl and Kara Poirier were leading the Pipers at the plate with three RBIs apiece.
