Piper women finish season with MIAC win

Senior co-captains Kelly Gust (East Grand Forks, Minn.) and Liz Gunderson (New Prague, Minn.) closed out their four-year careers by sweeping their matches to lead the team to the win.

The duo paired at first doubles for an 8-5 win. Gust then pulled out a third set super-breaker victory at first singles, 7-6 (7-4), 5-7, 10-7. Gunderson won easily at second singles, 6-0, 6-1.

Kelsey Eatherton (So., White Bear Lake, Minn.) finished off the season with a five-match win streak and a 6-3 record in MIAC play by winning at third singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Anna Yarbrough (Fy., Minneapolis, Minn.) won at fourth singles in a third set super-breaker, 4-6, 6-3, 10-8. Kristen Kiemele (So., Eagan, Minn.) won at sixth singles, 6-0, 6-2.

The Pipers finish the 2009 season with a 3-13, 2-8 MIAC record.
