Bailey’s Hamline school record time came during her morning preliminary swim of the 100 breaststroke on Friday. She moved from ninth to first on the all-time list by besting the previous record of 1:08.68 with her time of 1:07.90. Bailey’s personal best entering the MIAC championships in the 100 breaststroke was 1:11.31.

In the evening’s final she swam a 1:09.20 for eighth place.

Punyko also had a strong preliminary swim in the morning, posting a time of 59.93 in the 100 butterfly. Her time put at third all-time in that event at Hamline, and she is just the third woman in Piper history to swim the event in under a minute.

She lowered that time even more during the evening finals, finishing on the podium in third place with a time of 59.36.

The third and final day of the MIAC swimming and diving championships will take place tomorrow, Saturday, February 21, at the University of Minnesota.
