During the morning preliminary heats for the 50 freestyle, Bailey posted a time of 24.69. She not only qualified her for the evening's final but moved from tenth to fourth on the Pipers' freestyle all-time list.
In her evening swim, Bailey swam a 24.87 to finish 13th.
Punyko also improved on her Piper top-ten list positioning during the morning prelims. Her time of 2:13.20 moved her from eighth to sixth in the 200 individual medley, and qualified her for the finals.
Punyko finished eighth in the 200 IM with a 2:14.42 in the evening finals.
Bailey and Punyko teamed with Kryslyn Kalkbrenner (Fy., Eden Prairie, Minn.) and Erinn Moriarty (Jr., Cottage Grove, Minn.) to finish eighth in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:42.21.
The MIAC championships will continue tomorrow, Friday, February 20, at the University of Minnesota.
