Cardinals down Pipers

Saint Mary’s scored at 29:25  to take a 1-0 lead. The Cardinals out-shot the Pipers 11-5 in the first half, with sophomore keeper Liz Stock (Savage, Minn.) making six saves in the opening 45 minutes.

The Cardinals then scored three second half goals at 50:12, 67:20, and 80:58 to take a 4-0 lead.

Sackrison prevented the shutout by scoring at 87:04 on a pass from Lizzie Steinert (Sr., Skokie, Ill.).

With the loss, the Pipers are now at 3-10-1, 0-7-1 MIAC. The Cardinals are 8-5-1, 2-5-1 MIAC. The Pipers will remain on the road to play a non-conference game at Northwestern on Tuesday, October 20, at 3:30 p.m.
