Prior to the start of today's game, the Pipers recognized four seniors - Lindsey Anderson (Cottage Grove, Minn.), Haley Leverington (Saint Paul, Minn.), Lizzie Steinert (Skokie, Ill.), and Kelly Kunowski (Milwaukee, Wis.).
The Auggies scored four first-half goals to take a 4-0 lead in the opening 45 minutes. They tallied scores at 11:52 from Whitney Holman, at 15:18 from Bri Dorale, 6:15 from Lisa Weniger, and then Holman's second of the game at 39:50.
Holman's first goal came as she took a corner kick for Augsburg and it deflected off of a defender in the box. Her second tally was on a direct kick following a Piper penalty.
Augsburg's Kelsey Sorensen added a pair of goals in the second half at 78:42 and 79:39.
With the conference loss, the Pipers move to 3-12-1, 0-8-1 MIAC. The Auggies are now 5-6-5, 2-5-2 MIAC. Hamline hosts Gustavus Adolphus on Wednesday, October 28, at 3:30 p.m. in their last home game of 2009.
