Pipers fall to Blazers

The Blazers got on the scoreboard quickly, scoring 53 seconds into the game on a goal by Amie Ernst (Fy., North Mankato, Minn.). Kerri Graske (Fy., Stillwater, Minn.) was credited with the assist.

At 12:36 in the first, Abby Milton (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.) gave the Blazers a 2-0 lead on an assist from Katelyn Bounds (Fy., Anchorage, Alaska). They tallied their third goal at 17:04 as Graske scored from Bounds and Ernst.

Saint Benedict added a fourth goal in the second period at 8:25 by Ashley Davenport (Sr., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.). She was assisted by Janae Coauette (Jr., Crookston, Minn.) and Jennifer Yelle (Fy., Coon Rapids, Minn.).

Hamline got on the scoreboard with an unassisted power play goal from Brianna Miller (Sr., Woodbury, Minn.) at 6:04 in the third.

Saint Benedict’s fifth goal came at 10:51 from Molly Reinking (So., Maple Grove, Minn.). Coauette and Abbie Helminen (So., Brighton, Mich.) earned the assists. Their final tally was at 17:23, as Andrea Parsons (Fy, Buffalo, Minn.) scored from Kelly Fladebo (Fy., Mora, Minn.) and Ernst.

Hamline’s record is now 7-14-2, 3-11-2 MIAC after the conference loss, while the Blazers move to 7-7-4, 5-7-4 MIAC. The Pipers will next play at Gustavus on Friday, February 20, at 7:00 p.m.
