Oles skate to shutout over Pipers

The Oles put three goals on the board in the opening period, the first coming on a power play a 10:53 from Lauren Tomford (Sr., Avon, Conn.). Nicole Stumpf (Fy., Oakdale, Minn.) and Meghan Stumpf (Jr,. Oakdale, Minn.) earned the assists.

St. Olaf’s second goal was an even-strength score at 16:23 as Kim McClintock (Sr., Chaska, Minn.) scored off of a pass from Kari McClintock (Sr., Chaska, Minn.). The third goal was also even-strength at 18:16. Meghan Stumpf scored that goal from Nicole Stumpf and Bridgen Anderson (Jr., Edina, Minn.).

Their fourth goal came at 15:50 in the second as Tomford scored her second power play goal of the game from Meghan Stumpf and Nicole Stumpf. The goal to go up 5-0 came at 2:38 in the third. Alison Umland (Fy., Plymouth, Minn.) scored on an assist from Jessica Laurinaitis (Fy.,  Hamel, Minn.).

With the conference loss, the Pipers move to 2-3-1, 0-2-1 MIAC and the Oles are now 4-3-0, 2-1-0 MIAC. Hamline travels to Northfield tomorrow, Saturday, December 5, to play a 7:00 p.m. game against the Oles to close out the series.
