The Pipers and Knights traded leads through the opening four minutes
of play, before the hosts gained an advantage with 16 minutes to play in
the half that they would carry into the locker room. They led the
Pipers by 12, 52-40, at halftime.
Carleton never gave Hamline a chance to narrow the lead in the final
20 minutes, carrying their first half momentum to the final buzzer and
the 84-67 win.
In addition to 17 points, Wilkowski led Hamline with eight rebounds
(four offensive, four defensive). Jackie Kelly (So., Blaine, Minn.) and
Jessica Heinen (Sr., Spicer, Minn.) each put up 13 points. Heinen added
seven rebounds (two offensive, five defensive) for Hamline.
Hamline drops to 5-4, 2-4 MIAC with the loss, while the Knights are
now at 3-5, 2-3 MIAC. The Pipers will travel to Bethel on Monday,
January 5, for a 7:30 p.m. conference tip-off.
