Pipers open strong in Florida

The Pipers scored the opening basket of the game as Mary Wilkowski (Jr., Savannah, Ga.) tallied the first two of her game-high 25 points.

Hamline held a lead for the entire game with the exception of an 11-second stretch in the first half. Curry tied the score at 12-12 at 13:35. Stephanie Robinson (So., Sioux City, Iowa) broke the tie with a jumper at 13:24 and the Pipers controlled from there.

Hamline led by 18 at halftime, 48-30, and held a 20+ point lead for most of the second half.

Wilkowski completed a double-double by adding 11 rebounds to her 25 points and also had two blocked shots. Robinson had 16 points while Kristin Sczublewski (Jr., Pierz, Minn.) contributed 12 points.

Jackie Kelly (Jr., Blaine, Minn.) was the final Piper in double-digits with 10 points. She also tallied eight rebounds.

Robinson, Nikki Klinck (Jr., Hibbing, Minn.), and Ayana Hicks (Fy., Saint Paul, Minn.) each had three steals.

The Pipers improve to 4-3 overall with the non-conference win. They are 3-2 in MIAC play. Hamline will play North Central College tomorrow, Saturday, December 19, at 11:00 a.m. CT.
