The host Cobbers scored the first points of the game and led until a
Nikki Klinck (Jr., Hibbing, Minn.) three-pointer gave Hamline their
first lead of the game, 6-5, at 12:18.
Kara Poirier (Fy., Eau Claire, Wis.) drained a trey at 7:24 to put
the Pipers up by seven, 21-14. That would be the largest lead Hamline
would build, as Concordia started to peck away at their deficit, taking
back the lead, 25-24, at 4:21 on a jumper.
The Cobbers ultimately led by seven at halftime, 39-32. Hamline
couldn't close the gap to less than five points, ultimately dropping the
game, 67-58.
Wilkowski had a game-high 29 points and 10 rebounds. Klinck was
second on the team in scoring with eight points while Jessica Englund
(So., St. Francis, Minn.) had seven boards. Klinck also added three
steals.
The Pipers drop to 2-3, 2-2 MIAC with the loss. The Cobbers are now
4-3, 3-1 MIAC. Hamline will return home to Hutton Arena to host Carleton
in conference play on Monday, December 14, at 6:00 p.m. The game will
be the final home basketball contest for the Pipers in 2009.
