After dropping the opening set, 25-18, the Pipers also fell behind 5-2 to start the second set. They quickly bounced back, as Anita Rojas (Sr., Valle del Cauca, Colombia) tallied a kill and a pair of Ole errors evened the score at 5-5.
St. Olaf regained the lead and kept and advantage until the Pipers recorded seven straight points while down 7-9. Tasha Simmons (Sr., Eagan, Minn.) recorded a kill to tie the second set at 9-9. A second kill from Simmons gave the Pipers their first lead of the set at 10-9. She had four kills in the those seven points, including the one that put Hamline up 14-9.
The Pipers stayed ahead on the scoreboard for the remainder of the set to win it, 25-21.
Things turned around again in the third set, where despite holding an early 2-1 lead, the Pipers fell to the Oles, 25-11.
St. Olaf won the opening point of the fourth set, but Hamline took an early 3-1 lead on kills from Simmons, Danielle Bennett-Curry (Fy., Minneapolis, Minn.), and Jackie Kelly (Jr., Blaine, Minn.).
The score stayed even between the two teams until the Oles opened up a three point lead at 11-8. They never looked back from there, taking the set 25-20, along with the match.
Simmons led Hamline with 13 kills while Bennett-Curry had 10. Kelly had 16 digs.
Hamline fell to 10-12, 0-7 MIAC.
