The host Auggies won the match by set scores of 25-18, 25-15, 25-22.
Augsburg started out fast, winning the first three points of the first set. The Pipers closed the deficit to one point at 15-14 on a service ace from Jackie Kelly (Jr., Blaine, Minn.), but couldn't pull closer than that in the opening set.
The Auggies began the second set in similar fashion, winning the first seven points and holding control of the match from there.
Hamline was led by nine kills from Tasha Simmons (Sr., Eagan, Minn.). Danielle Bennett-Curry (Fy., Minneapolis, Minn.) and Anita Rojas (Sr., Valle del Cauca, Colombia) each recorded seven kills.
Heidi Larsen (Jr., Andover, Minn.) had 15 digs and Simmons had 10 to lead Hamline.
The Pipers fall to 9-5, 0-2 MIAC with the loss. They will play their second home match of the season on Saturday, September 26, against Saint Mary's at 3:00 p.m.
