Weaver, who threw a complete-game shutout the day before against Augsburg, hurled a four-hit shutout and then scattered eight hits in the second game. She gave up just one walk in 14 innings, while striking out 14 (eight in game one, six in game two).
After four scoreless innings in the first game of the double-header, Jourdan Ulrich (Sr., Apple Valley, Minn.) hit a lead-off triple in the fifth. An RBI on a sacrifice fly by Grace Weinreich (Sr., Wahkon, Minn.) scored Ulrich for the lone run of the inning.
The only other run scored in the first game came from the Pipers in the sixth inning, as Brenna Healy (Jr., Mounds View, Minn.) hit a double and then came home on an RBI-single by Heidi Larsen (So., Andover, Minn.).
Ulrich was 3-for-4 in the first game.
The second game opened with three and a half scoreless innings before the Knights scored two in the bottom of the fourth. That was all that Weaver and the Pipers would allow them, as the visitors' bats found their pop in the fifth inning.
Hamline tallied five runs on five hits and one Carleton error in the fifth. Ashley Anderberg (Jr., Circle Pines, Minn.) had two of the RBI on a double down the left field line while Sophie Davidson (Jr., Saint Paul, Minn.) added two more RBI on a single to left center. Ulrich added the fifth RBI of the inning on a single up the middle.
The Pipers then put four more runs on the board in the top of the seventh on five hits and one more Carleton error. Weinreich had her second RBI on a sacrifice fly of the day while Kristi Gravem (So., Maplewood, Minn.) and Anderberg each added an RBI in the inning.
Ulrich was 2-for-4 with an RBI in game two, finishing the day at 5-for-8. Davidson was also 2-for-4 in game two with three RBI. Anderberg was 2-for-3 with three RBI.
With the pair of wins, the Pipers improve to 13-5, 6-2 MIAC. They will host Concordia on Friday, April 10, at 1:00 p.m.
