Four Pipers take event victories at Saint John's

The Pipers posted two wins on the track and two in the field events. Devin Monson (Fy., Thompson, N.D.) won the 1500-meter race in 4:14.77. Brant Luehman (Sr., Amery, Wis.) won the 400-meter hurdles in 57.54.

In the field events, Aaron Wilkerson (Jr., Roseville, Minn.) led Hamline to a one-two-three finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 50.32 meters to win it. Andy Norman (So., Winona, Minn.) was second with a toss of 49.30 meters and Nate Bell (Jr., St. Peter, Minn.) was third at 46.61 meters.

Carl Hipp (So., Little Canada, Minn.) won the high jump, clearing 1.8 meters.

Second place finishes went to Matt Warhol (Jr., Andover, Minn.) in the 110-meter hurdles in 17.24, Derall King (So., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) in the discus throw at 40.16 meters, and Peter Erickson (Fy., New Brighton, Minn.) in the pole vault at a height of 4.02 meters.

The Pipers will host the Meet of the UnSaintly this weekend. The hammer throw will take place on Friday, May 1 at 4:00 p.m. The rest of the meet will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2.
