110 minutes of play yields scoreless tie for Pipers and Royals

Zach Nelson (So., Eagan, Minn.) made nine saves in net for Hamline University while Nick Kantor (Sr., Buffalo, Minn.) posted five saves.

There were several scoring chances, especially late in the game as each team had three corner kicks in the second half. Bethel out-shot Hamline 23-12 in the game.

Hamline coach Jon Lowery recorded a tie in just his ninth game as a head coach, while Bethel head coach Pepe Jon Chavez hadn't had a tie in 43 games at the helm of the Royals.

The game was Hamline's second overtime game in a row, following a 2-1 single overtime win over Central on Sunday.

The Pipers are now 4-4-1, 0-1-1 MIAC while the Royals are 5-2-1, 1-0-1 MIAC. Hamline will continue with conference play at Carleton on Saturday, September 26, at 1:00 p.m.
