Pipers fall to Auggies under the lights

The teams played scoreless soccer for the first 82 minutes, with the Auggies out-shooting the Pipers 27-11. The deadlock ended at 82:18, however, when a corner kick led to an Augsburg goal.

The Auggie player scored an unassisted goal as he put the ball in the net following an attempt to clear by a Hamline defender.

Zach Nelson (So., Eagan, Minn.) recorded eight saves in the loss.

The Pipers go to 6-9-1, 2-5-1 MIAC with the conference loss and the Auggies move to 7-7-1, 2-7-0 MIAC. Hamline will travel to Gustavus on Tuesday, October 27, for a 3:30 p.m. conference contest. They will conclude the season at home against Macalester on Friday, October 30, at 1:00 p.m.
