Pipers and Pointers skate to scoreless tie

Overtime found the two teams skating frantically in search of a goal, and saw the Piper penalty kill unit hold off a two-minute Pointer attack to preserve the tie.

Hamline goalie Beau Christian (Fy., Moorhead, Minn.) made 25 saves, while the Pointers’ Marcus Paulson (Sr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) made 18 in goal.

With the non-conference tie, the Pipers will return to MIAC play next weekend with a 9-3-1, 4-0-0 MIAC record, while UW-Stevens Point is now 11-5-1, 2-4-0 NCHA. Hamline will host conference foe St. Olaf on Friday, January 16 at 7:15 p.m. Hamline will pit a 4-0 MIAC record up against an Ole team that sits at 5-0-1 in conference play.
