#12 Pipers suffer first MIAC loss

The Oles scored quickly on their home ice, putting two goals on the board in the first two minutes.

Hamline's Joe Long (Sr., Dayton, Minn.) sixth goal of the season at 15:25 in the first period was the lone Piper goal of the game. Dustin Fulton (Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and Andrew Birkholz (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.) earned the assists.

St. Olaf scored again two minutes later in the first period and less than four minutes into the second period, resulting in the 4-1 win.

Hamline’s record is now 10-4-1, 5-1-0 MIAC, while St. Olaf improves to 10-6-1, 6-1-1 MIAC. The Pipers will next take on the Bethel Royals in conference play. They travel to the National Sports Center in Blaine for a road game on Friday, January 23, at 7:00 p.m.
