The two teams skated to a 0-0 tie after the opening 20 minutes. The Oles then struck first, scoring on a power play at 15:27 in the second and adding a short-handed goal at 19:00 for a 2-0 lead after two periods.
Hamline cut the Ole lead to one goal as Kurr scored on a power play at 8:34 in the third. Brian Arrigoni (So., Saint Paul, Minn.) recorded the assist.
Kurr then tied the game on another power play goal at 16:40. Jared Hummel (Jr., Eagan, Minn.) earned the assist on the tying goal.
The five-minute overtime period failed to produce any scoring, and the teams each skated away with a point in the MIAC standings.
The Pipers out-shot the Oles 42-26 in the game.
The #15-ranked Pipers are now 5-1-2, 2-0-1 MIAC after the conference tie while the Oles are 5-2-4, 0-1-4 MIAC. The same two teams will play tomorrow, Saturday, December 5, at Drake Arena in Saint Paul. The opening puck drop is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
