The teams played an even opening period, as each posted eight shots on goal in the first twenty minutes of play. St. Norbert broke the deadlock at 16:11 of the second period.
Taylor Vichorek (Fy., Moose Lake, Minn.) then tied the game at 18:23 while the Pipers had a 5-on-3 advantage. Brian Arrigoni (So., Saint Paul, Minn.) and Chris Berenguer (Jr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) had the assists on the score.
Beau Christian (So., Moorhead, Minn.) held strong in goal for the Pipers, recording 10 saves in the third period and three in overtime to preserve the tie for Hamline. He totaled 33 saves for the second straight night.
With the tie the Pipers move to 2-1-1 overall. They have next weekend off, opening MIAC play on Friday, November 20, when they host Saint Mary's at 7:15 p.m.
