Rogers ran to the finish in 16:29.
The St. Olaf Alumni Race also enabled five other Piper first-year runners to debut amongst a field of 51 runners.
Also joining Rogers in the top 20 were first-years Nate Dobbins (Rochester, Minn.) who finished 15th with a time 16:48, and Chris Reisdorfer (Adrian, Minn.), who finished 18th with a time of 16:54.
Their classmates Brendan Ruter (New London, Minn.) finished 27th with a time of 17:35, while Ross Anderson (Saint Paul, Minn.) finished 28th with a time of 17:43, and Charles Schweitzer (Queen Creek, Ariz.) finished 34th with a time of 18:06.
The men’s cross country team will compete next on Sept. 12 at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa in the All-American. It will be a four mile race. The race will begin at 11:45 a.m.
