Bauer (Sr., Roseville, Minn.) finished the race seven seconds after overall winner Adam Bohach, who competed for the Luther College alumni team in the four mile race.
Ellis Richardson (So., Shoreview, Minn.) joined his fellow Piper in the top 10 by finishing in ninth place with a time of 21:26. First-year Colin Rogers (River Falls, Wis.) crossed the finish line 31 seconds later, coming in at 30th.
Jamison Hull (Sr., Forest Lake, Minn.) placed 32nd with a time of 22:02, Jack Deichert (So., Golden Valley, Minn.) finished 37th with a time of 22:08, and Joel Dietrich (Jr., Portland,Ore.) crossed the finish line at 38th with a time of 22:17. Chris Reisdorfer finished 40th with a time of 22:21
With seven runners finishing the All-American in the top 40, Hamline came in fourth out of eight teams with a score of 110 points. UW-La Crosse, Luther College, and UW-River Falls placed ahead of them with scores of 46, 72, and 73 points, respectively.
Iowa Central Community College, the Luther College Alumni team, UW-Eau Claire, and Grandview University all finished behind Hamline.
The Pipers compete next on Saturday, September 26, in the Roy Griak Invitational at the Les Bolstad Gold Course. It will be an 8K race, hosted by the University of Minnesota. The race is scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m.
