Bauer crossed the finish line of the 8K race in 26:10:5. Teammate Ellis Richardson (So., Shoreview, Minn.) joined him in the top 50 by placing 48th with a time of 27:09:3.
Devin Monson (So., Thompson, N.D.), Jamison Hull (Sr., Forest Lake, Minn.), and Jack Deichert (So., Golden Valley, Minn.) all finished in the next 60 seconds with times of 27:29:6, 27:55:6, and 28:09:05 respectively.
First-years Colin Rogers (River Falls, Wis.) and Chris Residorfer (Adrian, Minn.) rounded out the impressive showing for the Pipers, placing 119th and 125th with times of 28:18:8 and 28:23:3 respectively.
By having all their runners place in the top 125, Hamline earned a score of 317 points. UW-La Crosse finished first overall with 41 points, UW-Platteville finished second with 81, and Emory University rounded out the top three with a score of 113 points.
The Hamline men’s cross country team next competes on Friday, October 2, in the Blue and Gold Invite in Eau Claire, Wis. The 8K race is scheduled to start at 4:45 p.m.
