Pipers fall to DI Sioux

Despite a blocked shot and a dunk by sophomore center Carl Hipp (Little Canada, Minn.) in the opening minutes, the Sioux took control early on their home court in Grand Forks. At halftime they carried a 24-point lead at 47-23.
In the second half, the Pipers slowly cut away at the lead, cutting it to 14 at 68-54 with three and a half minutes to play. However, the Sioux didn’t let them cut it any closer, winning by a final score of 77-60.

The Pipers are now at 9-15, 8-11 MIAC with the non-conference loss. They will close out the 2008-09 season on Saturday, February 21, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Thomas.
