Brown tallies first double-double of season in Piper loss to Cobbers

The Pipers started quickly on the road, taking the early lead and maintaining control of the scoreboard until Concordia's first lead, 26-25, at 3:48. The Cobbers led 33-30 at halftime.

The teams battled in the first ten minutes of the second half, posting three tied scores. After the third tie, 46-46, at 12:49, Concordia went on a 14-1 run that put them up by 13, 60-47, with just under eight minutes to play.

Hamline's deficit was cut to five points, 66-61, with two and a half minutes to play, but the Cobbers opened it back up in the final minutes as Hamline fouled to attempt to regain possession.

In addition to Brown's 15 points, 10 boards, and two blocked shots, Carl Hipp (Jr., Little Canada, Minn.) had 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Pipers fall to 3-4, 1-3 MIAC while the Cobbers improve to 5-3, 2-2 MIAC. Hamline will next play in a tournament at Cal Lutheran in Thousand Oaks, California, on December 29 and 30.
