Pipers post trio of third place finishes on final day of MIAC championships

The Pipers had a trio of third-place finishes, starting with a pair of them on the track. Margot Branigan (Sr., Roseville, Minn.) placed third in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:13.76 and Kameron Argiannis (Jr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) was third in the 600-meter dash in 1:36.96.

Robyn Wernberg (Jr., Brainerd, Minn.) also secured a third place finish in the shot put with a toss of 12.41 meters (40-8 ¾).

The top three individual finishers earn All-MIAC honors while places four through six earn honorable mention accolades.

Katelyn Anderson (Jr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) placed sixth in the pole vault, clearing 3.10 meters (10-2).

The Pipers ended the meet with a fifth-place run in the 1600-meter relay. Argiannis, Katie Corey (Fy., South St. Paul, Minn.), Kaitlyn Frenchick (So., Paynesville, Minn.), and Christina Walker (Fy., Katy, Texas) sprinted to the finish in 4:05.63.   

The Pipers finished seventh in the team standings with 53.0 points. St. Thomas won the teams championship with 158.0 points.
