Walker breaks own school record in Friday night meet

Christina Walker (Fy., Katy, Texas) continued to dominate the 200-meter dash, breaking her own school record set earlier this season by over three-tenths of a second with a sprint of 26.54.

En route to winning the race, she also broke the previous Macalester fieldhouse record held by her teammate, Kameron Argiannis (Jr., White Bear Lake, Minn.). Argiannis finished third in the event in 27.44.

Argiannis finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.58, just off her own Hamline school record in that event that was set last season (1:00.49). Walker was third in the event in 1:00.88.

Jessica Kociscak (Jr., Anoka, Minn.) placed second in the 800-meter run in 2:23.59 while Sara Holland (Jr., Dousman, Wis.) was third in 2:24.88.

Rachel Simmer (Sr., Champlin Park, Minn.) also ran a third-place race as she finished the mile run in 5:48.37.

Margot Branigan (Sr., Roseville, Minn.) won the 3000-meter run in 10:35.50.

Lynn Robohm (So., Rosemount, Minn.) won the high jump, clearing 1.55 meters (5-1). Carly Braun (Fy., St. Cloud, Minn.) won the pole vault for the Hamline sweep, as she cleared 2.92 meters (9-7).

The next meet for the Pipers is MIAC indoor track and field championships next weekend, March 4-6, at Carleton.
