Pipers place several in top five as they host invite

Margot Branigan (Sr., Roseville, Minn.) was the highest-finishing Division III runner in the 1500-meter run, placing second behind an unattached athlete with a time of 4:45.79.

Lauren Howe (Jr., Siren, Wis.) won the 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing in 12:09.57, more than 20 seconds faster than her seed time.

Christina Walker (Fy., Katy, Texas) sprinted to fourth in the 100-meter dash in 12.80 and then placed third in the 200-meter dash in 26.01.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Kameron Argiannis (Jr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) placed third and Lynn Robohm (So., Rosemount, Minn.) was fourth, finishing in 16.51 and 16.86, respectively.

Argiannis also had a top-five finish in the 400-meter hurdles, placing fourth in 1:05.65. There were two unattached athletes in the top four.

In the field events, Robohm was second in the high jump to an unattached athlete, clearing 1.60 meters (5-3). Arelene Behrling (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) was third in the pole vault, clearing 3.15 meters (10-4).

Robyn Wernberg (Jr., Brainerd, Minn.) was the final top five Piper with a fifth-place throw in the discus at 41.41 meters (135-10).

Hamline next competes on Saturday, April 17, at St. Olaf.
