Two hit NCAA provo mark as Pipers host Capitol City Championships

A pair of Pipers hit the NCAA provisional mark in the discus throw as Becky Culp (Fy., Lino Lakes, Minn.) won the event with a throw of 43.92 meters (144-1) and Robyn Wernberg (Jr., Brainerd, Minn.) was third at 41.84 meters (137-3). Brenna Coyle finished fifth in the event at 37.42 meters (122-9).

In Sunday's hammer throw, Coyle placed fifth with a throw of 43.64 meters (143-2).

Margot Branigan (Sr., Roseville, Minn.) and Jessica Kociscak (Jr., Anoka, Minn.) finished one-two in the 1500-meter run. Branigan finished in 4:52.15 while Kociscak's time was 4:59.65. Sara Holland (Jr., Dousman, Wis.) was fourth in 5:02.48.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Lynn Robohm (So., Rosemount, Minn.) placed fourth in 16.16. Ellen Sackrison (Fy., St. Louis Park, Minn.) crossed the line in 16.52 to place fifth. Sackrison then went on to place second in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:14.33.

Carly Braun (Fy., St. Cloud, Minn.) sprinted to a fifth place finish in the 100-meter dash in 13.01.

In the pole vault, Arlene Behling (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) was third, clearing 3.15 meters (10-4). Braun placed fourth at a height of 3.05 meters (10-0).

The Pipers next compete on Wednesday, May 5, in the Tommie Twilight at St. Thomas.
