The Pipers started out by sweeping the doubles matches. Kelsey Eatherton (Jr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) and Nora McGraw (Jr., Hutchinson, Minn.) posted an 8-2 win at first doubles while Kristen Kiemele (Jr., Eagan, Minn.) and Nicole Krier (So., Woodbury, Minn.) were 8-4 victors at second doubles.
Emily Workcuff (Sr., Lakeville, Minn.) and Elizabeth Allen (Fy., Menasha, Wis.) easily won at third doubles, 8-0, to take the 3-0 match lead into singles play.
Eatherton won her first singles match, 6-2, 6-4. The remaining three match victories came at fourth through sixth singles. Krier won at fourth, 6-0, 6-1, while Workcuff won at fifth singles, 6-2, 7-5. Allen earned her first career singles win with a 6-2, 6-0 win at sixth singles.
The Piper even out their overall record at 2-2 with the win. They will play on Saturday, February 20, at Bethany Lutheran. The noon match will be played at the Owatonna Tennis Center.
