The 400-yard medley relay team opened with a second place finish in 4:28.00. Sam Fisher (Sr., South St. Paul, Minn.), Marreya Bailey (Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.), Erinn Moriarty (Sr., Cottage Grove, Minn.), and Renee Punyko (Sr., Duluth, Minn.) comprised the team.
Punyko went on to win the 200 free in 2:03.40 and the 100 free in 55.76. Fisher finished fifth in 200 freestyle in 2:15.21.
Bailey was second in the 50 free, touching the wall in 26.37, and was fourth in the 100 freestyle in 58.72. She also added a third place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:16.25).
A pair of Pipers were in the top five of the 200-yard IM, as Erin Weslander (So., St. Cloud, Minn.) was third in 2:35.62 and Kryslyn Kalkbrenner (So., Eden Prairie, Minn.) finished fourth in 2:38.59. Tiffany Thanel (Fy., Moorhead, Minn.) was fifth in the 100 free with a time of 1:02.27.
Fisher posted another top-five, placing fifth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:11.53. Westlander did the same in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:18.60).
The 800-yard freestyle team finished off the night, swimming to fourth in 9:30.08. Jozie Nummi (So., Superior, Wis.), Fisher, Abby Ghylin (Fy., Lakeville, Minn.) and Punyko swam on that team.
The Pipers will next swim at St. Kate's on Saturday, January 23. The swimming begins at 1:00 p.m.
