The Pipers started off the evening session with a seventh place finish in the 200 yard medley relay. Sam Fisher (Sr., South St. Paul, Minn.), Marreya Bailey (Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.), Punyko, and Tiffany Thanel (Fy., Moorhead, Minn.) swam a 1:56.84 race.
Punyko then placed fourth in the 100 fly finals with a time of 59.29. The first three finishers posted NCAA "B" cut times.
The time betters her own on the Hamline all-time list, remaining at third.
Bailey then finished third in the "B" finals for the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.18.
In the morning session, Punyko had the fifth-fastest time in the preliminaries of the 100 fly, swimming into the finals with a time of 59.77.
Bailey placed into the "B" finals in the 100 yard breaststroke with a 1:11.61 swim.
The conference championship meet will continue tomorrow, Saturday, February 20, at 10:30 a.m. at the University of Minnesota.
