The Oles scored early as they earned a direct kick just before the five minute mark. KC Beed (Sr., Rochester, Minn.) took the kick and hit it through the wall. Lindsay Howard (Jr., Minnetonka, Minn.) was waiting by the left post and put the ball in the goal for the score at 4:56.
Ellie Steiner (Jr., West Bend, Wis.) then had a pair of assists at 33:46 and 42:19, first on a goal by Christina Herron-Sweet (Jr., San Diego, Calif.) and then on one by Amanda Leone (Fy., Plymouth, Minn.).
The Oles added two goals in the second half, starting with Leone feeding Catie Christoffel (Jr., Woodbury, Minn.) for the score at 65:08.
St. Olaf's final goal came with exactly two minutes to play as Mackensie Quade (Fy., New Brighton, Minn.) scored an unassisted goal on a direct kick.
The Oles out-shot the Pipers 23-5 in the game and had nine corner kicks to Hamline's four. All of the Pipers' corner kicks came in the second half of play.
The Pipers are now 3-2-0, 0-1-0 MIAC while the Oles are 4-1-0, 1-0-0 MIAC. Hamline will host Bethel University on Friday, September 17, at 4:00 p.m. as they continue MIAC play.
