Late Piper surge falls just short

The Wildcats scored in the opening five minutes of the game, and then again at 34:08 and 37:02, taking a 3-0 lead into halftime.

The Pipers then went on the attack in the second half, taking eight shots compared to two in the first half and gaining four corner kicks compared to none earlier.

Hamline's first goal came from Courtney McMoore (Jr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) at 50:52. Hannah Plagman (Fy., Cedar Rapids, Iowa) had the assist.

Liz Spielman (Jr., Hugo, Minn.) then made it a one-goal game with less than ten minutes to play at 81:49. Allyse Eide (Fy., North Pole, Alaska) and Plagman had the assists.

The Pipers fall to 3-6-0, 0-4-0 MIAC with the conference loss. St. Catherine is now 6-2-1 overall.

Hamline remains on the road this weekend, playing at St. Thomas on Saturday, October 2, at 11:00 a.m.
