Pipers fall on gusty day to Gusties

The temperature at gametime was 38 degrees with a rain/snow mix falling on the two teams in St. Peter.

The Gusties started off hot, however, scoring at 7:35 on an unassisted goal by Ashley Anderson. They added a second goal within the opening 20 minutes with another unassisted score at 19:52 by Nicole Kwapick.

Gustavus' third goal of the game came with less than five minutes to play as Amanda Cartony scored at 86:25 from Karen Maus.

The Pipers were out-shot 15-3 in the game but had six corner kicks to the Gusties' five. Hamline had five of those corners in the second half.

The Pipers fall to 5-12-0, 0-10-0 MIAC on the season while the Gusties improve to 6-11-0, 2-9-0 MIAC. Hamline returns to Pat Paterson Field to play their final game of the 2010 season, hosting Macalester at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30.
