Cooper reigns over Crown

The host Pipers scored early as Courtney McMoore (Jr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) cleared the ball up to Cooper at the top of the box. Cooper then broke away and scored the first Piper goal of the season at 6:33.

Cooper's next score came as she stole the ball from a Storm player at the top of the box and added an unassisted goal at 15:15. Less than two minutes later, Heather Hollinger (Fy., Las Vegas, Nev.) hit Cooper on a cross in front of the left side of the net and Cooper put the Pipers up 3-0 at 17:02.

Hollinger's first collegiate goal was Hamline's fourth of the game at 20:27 on a pass from Allyse Eide (Fy., North Pole, Alaska). Cooper then added an assist to her stat sheet when Jessie Wohlwend (Fy., Shoreview, Minn.) scored at 31:55.

The Pipers added one more first-half score at 35:01 when Alyssa Koulentis (Fy., Gresham, Ore.) scored her first collegiate tally at 35:01. Carissa Wallerich (Fy., West Salem, Wis.) and Brienne Garside (Fy., Broomfield, Colo.) had the assists.

Cooper then had the only score of the second half on an assist from Eide at 58:53.

Liz Stock (1-0, Jr., Savage, Minn.) and Molly Jacobs (Fy., Portland, Ore.) each played 45 minutes to combine for the shutout.

The Pipers open the season at 1-0 overall with the non-conference win. Crown opens at 0-1. Hamline next plays at the University of Minnesota-Morris on Saturday, September 4, at 2:00 p.m.
