After a scoreless first period, the Tommies scored a pair of goals in
the second period to go up 2-0. They opened the scoring at 3:32 from
Jamie Tiede. Kelsey Barnier then scored at 6:57 for the Tommies.
Kraus made it a one-goal game at 11:08 in the third on an assist from
Haley Johnson (So., Bemidji, Minn.). The goal was Kraus' third of the
season.
St. Thomas' final tally came on an empty-netter at 19:34 as Kaylee Keys scored.
Hamline was out-shot 38-9 in the game with Nicole Jones (Jr., Mora, Minn.) making 35 saves in net for the Pipers.
Hamline is now 2-8-3, 1-4-2 MIAC while St. Thomas is 6-5-2, 5-1-1
MIAC. The Pipers will host the Tommies tomorrow, Saturday, January 22,
at 7:00 p.m. in the second game of the series.
