Although the Pipers out-shot the Eagles 14-to-9 in the opening
period, it was Robert Morris who scored the lone goal. Kayla McCaig
(Sr., Bolingbrook, Ill.) scored at 7:20 from Danielle McCutcheon (Sr.,
Calgary, Alberta) and Ramey Weaver (Jr., Eagle River, Alaska).
Hamline narrowly continued to out-shoot the Eagles in the second
period, taking 12 shots on goal to Robert Morris’ 11. However, it was
once again Robert Morris finding the back of the net at 5:56. McCutcheon
scored from Weaver and Hope Fullum (Sr., Thunder Bay, Ontario).
The two teams would go on to play a scoreless third period, with Hamline once again edging out the Eagles in shots, 9-to-6.
Since Robert Morris is not an NCAA team, this game does not count in
the Pipers’ season record or statistics. Robert Morris is now 17-5-0
overall. Hamline remains at 2-7-3, 1-3-2 MIAC. They will return to
conference play on Friday, January 21, at St. Thomas. The game is
scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.
