Three-goal first period decides game as Pipers lose at Augsburg

The first goal of the game came at 10:12 as Nicole Gorr scored from Carissa Miller and Jess Geisinger for the Auggies. They added a second goal, the game-winner, at 18:44. Miller scored that goal from Eric Berthold and Gorr.

Hamline's goal came just 24 seconds before the first intermission as Haley Johnson (So., Bemidji, Minn.) scored. Billye Nelson (Jr., Warroad, Minn.) was credited with the assist.

All three goals were even-strength.

Hamline out-shot Augsburg 31-26 in the game.

The Pipers fall to 2-10-3, 1-6-2 MIAC while the Auggies are now 3-10-1, 1-7-1 MIAC. The same two teams will meet again tomorrow, Saturday, January 29, at 7:00 p.m. on Hamline's home ice.
