The Gusties took the opening 4-2 lead on their home court, but the Pipers bounced back less than five minutes after the tip. Jessica Englund (So., St. Francis, Minn.) made a layup at 15:42 to put Hamline up 6-4.
The Pipers built their lead up to nine points, 16-7, at 13:01 in the first half before Gustavus started to climb back. A Gustie free throw at 10:46 tied the game at 16-16.
From there, Gustavus maintained a lead and was ahead by eight, 41-33, at halftime.
Gustavus shot just under 39 percent in the opening half but came out after the halftime break and shot nearly 58 percent in the final 20 minutes.
They opened the second half scoring and went on to lead by double-digits for much of the remainder of the game.
Wilkowski's double-double consisted of 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Pipers. Jackie Kelly (Jr., Blaine, Minn.) had 13 points, Englund added 12, and Kristin Sczublewski (Jr., Pierz, Minn.) had 10.
Hamline falls to 5-6, 3-5 MIAC with the conference loss. The team remains on the road for their third straight game for a 7:30 p.m. start on Wednesday, January 13, at Saint Benedict.
